The Young British Metal Recyclers (YBMR) have been given a tour of the metal separation technology at Bunting Magnetics’ Customer Experience Centre in Redditch.
In May, the team at Bunting demonstrated a variety of metal separation technologies to the group including the eddy current, electrostatic and stainless steel varieties of separators.
The YBMR is an important part of the British Metal Recycling Association as it provides practical and educational activities which can assist in members career development.
Members are generally under the age of 40 and could be working in any area of the field such as the yard, office, or laboratory.
Ben Clemett, Bunting’s Area Sales Manager and fellow YBMR member explained: “We aimed to make the tour enlightening and illustrate how we are working on solving some complex metal separation problems.”
The morning session of the tour introduced the extensive range of metal separators available, whilst the afternoon session focused on equipment demonstrations and the complex challenges faced by recycling companies.
Metal separation is a key stage in the recycling process, as it is required to either purify a recycled product or recover valuable metals.
