Commenting on the industrial importance of the Aluminium Düsseldorf exhibition, which is the prestige fair of the Aluminium industry, Istanbul Ferrous and Non-ferrous Metals Exporters' Association Chairman Mr. Çetin Tecdelioğlu said: “As you know, the Aluminium industry holds a significant place in our industry. It provides industrial input by producing semi-finished products and products. There is a growing demand for Aluminium each passing day. Its area of use is expanded by new technologies and production models, including defence, construction, and automotive industries in particular, and it gains an increasingly bigger place in daily life. Our Aluminium product exports in 2021 increased by 71% to become $5.04 billion. As of 2021, the unit price of exports grew by 19% and reached 3.97 USD/Kg. On the other hand, the volume of exports in the industry climbed by 44% and hit 1.2 million tons. The industry exports to 192 countries. In 2021, the exports to the top 10 countries were $3.02 billion. Figures demonstrate that the industry increased its exports in dollars as well as growing both the volume and the added value of exports in the last year. We regard profitability and sustainable growth as crucial points. Companies are faced with increased financing costs and raw material supplies as well as competition with local companies, especially in international markets. Initiated by the EU in 2019, the Green Deal initiative considers the Aluminium industry as one of the pilot industries. The studies are still carried out with the work groups organised for the Green Deal and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Within the scope of the Green Deal initiative of the EU, we constantly work to ensure that our companies shape all their policies based on green transformation and stay attuned to the said economic transformation. We try and guide the companies through training sessions and meetings.”

A meeting is scheduled with the participant companies on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
