Rusal Aughinish may raise alumina production capacity

This follows the launch of a new, Phase 2, Bauxite Residue Disposal Area (BRDA).

At present, the new area is partially commissioned and the project is scheduled for full completion in 2013.

Rusal Aughinish is Europe’s largest alumina refinery with a production capacity of 1.89Mt/y.
