Raffmetal has received an award from Ferrari for developing a highly recyclable, low-carbon alloy.

The company was awarded at the Podio Ferrari 2026 event in Fiorano, Italy, which is dedicated to Ferrari’s supply chain partners.

The event was attended by John Elkann, Chairman of Ferrari, Benedetto Vigna, CEO, and other members of the Ferrari Leadership Team.

During the evening, six awards were presented to suppliers who had stood out over the past year for their results, collaborative approach, and ability to contribute to Ferrari’s objectives.

In total, 16 companies were selected as finalists from among more than 700 suppliers, across five categories: Value Creation, Trust Performance, Pursuit of Perfection, Open Innovation, and Co-Prosperity.

Raffmetal won the latter category for its commitment to developing highly recyclable alloys and for its innovative proposals on circularity.

Raffmetal said the Silval 7 alloy guarantees 100% recycled aluminium.

It also has a third-party verified carbon footprint of less than 1 kg CO₂eq/kg Al from cradle to gate.

The alloys are produced at the Silval Special Alloys Plant launched in 2020.

They are designed to meet the technical requirements of the most advanced customers and contribute to the decarbonisation of industrial supply chains.

Through its production process, Raffmetal is able to enhance aluminium scrap as a strategic raw material, reducing CO₂ emissions, and energy consumption compared with traditional processes.

In addition, keeping aluminium scrap in Europe means preserving expertise, competitiveness, and industrial capacity.
