The contract value exceeds EUR 10 million, which has been booked in Outotec's first quarter order intake.
Outotec will provide the technology, engineering, supply and installation of equipment and systems for the expansion of EMAL's existing green anode plant.
After the expansion, scheduled to be commissioned in mid-2016, the plant will be capable of producing considerably larger anodes, which are required for EMAL's ongoing efforts to increase the amperage and thus the output of the electrolysis.
"Outotec designed and delivered EMAL's first green anode plant in 2007, and provided for the smelter expansion in 2011 both the green anode plant and anode rodding shop. We are extremely pleased to be working with EMAL once again. We believe that being close to the customers and having long-term partnerships with them we can maintain our customers' confidence in our technologies and expertise. This is key to our success," states Adel Hattab, President of Outotec's EMEA region.
