The territory extends more than 170km from Quebec City East to Cap?Chat, Quebec, where Orbite’s alumina production facility is located.
The acquisition covers a large area of the aluminous shale?bearing Orignal Formation. It reaches out to the company’s existing property of Grande?Vallee, the site of which currently comprises 110 claims, totalling 66.7km2 of land.
The company has started an acquisition programme to develop aluminous shale?bearing claims in Southwestern Quebec. This has led to new claims from Saint?Apolinaire, west of Quebec City ? where natural gas is readily available ? to its current set of properties.
Field work will begin in the summer on all of its new claims and move towards the establishment of new aluminous shale resources for the company.
