The Aluminum Association, in cooperation with the Aluminum Association of Canada, reported primary reported primary aluminium production in North America (US and Canada) during March 2011 at an annual rate of 4.902 692t, increasing 101,664t/y (2.1%) over the previous month's rate of 4.801 028t.
Compared to a year ago, the annual rate of production was 3.4% above the March 2010 rate of 4.741150 tonnes. Through the first quarter of 2011, actual production was 1 189 542t, up 2.2% over the same period a year ago.
