Net income climbed to $60.7M in the three months ended June 30 from $26.8M in the corresponding period last year, the Bhubaneswar-based company said.
Rising income levels lifted India's car sales by more than 30% each month in the April-June quarter. The country also added 1815MW in the first quarter.
The average price of aluminium increased 39% in the quarter to $2126/t on the London Metal Exchange. The company also benefited from higher output compared with the period last year.
