Husnes plant manager Johan Berg appointed Chief Operations Officer in Qatalum
Berg has been four years at Husnes, that has included the upgrade and restart of the B-line and returning the plant to full capacity.
Before coming to Husnes in 2017, Johan has held several senior operational management roles, including as Head of Asset Management in Aluminium Metal. Between 2000 and 2015, Johan worked for Elkem and Alcoa in various management positions in operations, technology, strategy and sales in Norway, Canada, the US and Iceland.
Johan holds an MSc in Metallurgical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and an Executive MBA from University of Pittsburgh in the US.
Johan will commence his new role on July 1, 2021, reporting to Qatalum CEO Khalid Mohammed Laram. The process to find Johan Berg’s successor as plant manager at Husnes has been initiated.
