An aluminium worker has unfortunately died at a Hindalco facility.
Hindalco’s Managing Director Satish Pai made the announcement during last week’s Arabal conference where he told delegates about the tragic incident.
Despite mobile devices being banned on the shop floor, he said a forklift driver was looking at his smart phone when he drove into a colleague.
“The person he hit was walking on the shopfloor was also looking at his mobile phone,” Mr Pai said.
“So I think this is a disease that I think all of us have now inherited, we walk around with our mobile phone in our hands looking at them.
“I wanted to share it because I think it is going to get more dangerous as we walk around on the street because people are very distracted.”
