EU plots 15% tax on aluminium scrap exports

The EU is planning to levy a 15% tax on aluminium scrap exports starting September 9, 2026, according to the Financial Times.

The measure aims to keep valuable resources from being shipped to the US and Asia.

The policy also represents the first time Brussels has taxed outbound goods.
