The site is ranked as the world’s largest modern smelter with a captive power station and operated at full capacity, despite the downturn. The 2009 figure was a 6.5% increase from its 2008 production figure of 947.7kt cast.

The complex manufactures three aluminium products: foundry alloy for automotive applications; extrusion billet for construction, industrial and transportation purposes; and high purity aluminium for the electronics and aerospace industries. More than 112 different products are manufactured on site.

Other 2009 highlights included a record of 29891t of sow ingots produced and a record 14816t achieved in standard ingot production in November 2009. Dubal has set its sights on a metal production volume of 1.02Mt in 2010.
