As before, the conference will focus on both anodes and cathodes. Emphasis will be on environmental issues, increasing productivity and future prospects in the aluminium industry.

Sessions will look at modern rodding plants, anode butts and rods transportation (cleaning and recycling), as well as increasing productivity and the effect on the environment.

A full programme listing can be found here: http://rodding-conference.is/?page_id=9

The organisers plan to give delegates the opportunity to visit the primary aluminium smelters Nordural at Grundartangi and Rio Tinto Alcan at Straumsvik (ISAL) during the conference days.

If there is sufficient interest, a trip will be organised the day after the conference (16th May) to the Alcoa Fjarðaál smelter in Reyðarfjörður, east-Iceland.

Registration is now open. Contact Birgir Jóhannesson for more information (birgirj@nmi.is)

The conference will also feature a tabletop exhibition. See here for sales opportunities: http://www.aluminiumtoday.com/events/view/international-conference-on-electrodes-for-primary-aluminium-smelters
