The investment aims to improve the treatment of the wrapping material that protects cathodes during the baking process.

The construction of a new building and the addition of a conveyor system are among the improvements that will enhance operational safety and efficiency.

Carbone Savoie will also evaluate new technologies for the treatment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emissions.

The project would involve installing a high-performance system called RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidation), which would lower the emissions of the four Vénissieux furnaces.

Carbone Savoie has more than 100 years of experience in the production and marketing of cathodes for the aluminium industry.

Its products include cathode blocks, precast tiles, side wall blocks for lining paste, and other speciality products. It exports 90% of its products to 130 countries around the world. Its current cathode production capacity is 45kt, with three facilities in France.
