The planned expansion is a third-phase project of Aba Aluminium and is expected to be put into operation in May 2011. And the ongoing second-phase project, which started construction in July 2009, will help increase its capacity by 200kt/y.
Meanwhile, Bosai is also enhancing alumina capacity. Its Pioneer Alumina refinery is to increase its capacity to 600kt/y after a third-phase expansion to be completed by year-end.
