Indian aluminium producer Balco has tapped the first metal from its 525 kiloampere smelter, the country’s largest.
The smelter, located at Korba, Chhattisgarh, is being constructed to a capacity of 1 million tonnes per year.
The milestone this week also marked the commencement of 304 new pots at the site.
