According to Qatalum, aluminium plants in the Gulf are striving to develop emission controls and are paying particular attention to smoke filtration systems and waste management processes as well as employee health and safety.

Gulf smelters, claims Qatalum, are providing employees with regular medical tests, particularly those concerning noise, inhalation of hazardous gases and exposure to high temperatures.

There is, says Qatalum, a strong commitment towards adopting and implementing international quality standards and employing advanced technologies, such as air quality monitoring systems to measure environment impact several times a day.

This year, ARABAL will be hosted and organised by Qatalum and will be held in Doha between 20 and 22 November.
