Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) has announced that Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against the ASI Chain of Custody Standard for three of its facilities. The facilities’ operations include aluminium re-melting, continuous casting, cold rolling, coating, slitting and oxidation process for the manufacture of aluminium alloy sheets, strips and aluminium alloy foils.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI CoC Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors. The implementation of ASI’s CoC Standard links verified practices at successive steps of the supply chain – certified under the ASI Performance Standard – to the products produced by ASI Certified Entities. The independent, third-party audits of the Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said, “We warmly congratulate Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. on achieving ASI Chain of Custody Certification. The volume of production and the diverse industries in which the company’s aluminium foils are used presents a significant potential flow through to sectors such as packaging, printing, home appliances, medical, and lithium batteries. When coupled with appropriate upstream sourcing, the achievement of this certification gives the company’s customers the possibility to support responsible aluminium production and sourcing.”
Dingsheng New Materials’ spokesperson said, “We are pleased to get the Chain of Custody Standard certification of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, and we would like to express our gratitude to ASI for their strong support. Over 17 years, Dingsheng New Materials has developed into one of the largest aluminium foil manufacturers in the world. As a key member of the global aluminium foil roller initiative, we will always be committed to being a responsible manufacturer and contributing to the sustainable development of the aluminium industry.”
