Aluminium France has organised to supply its members with sanitary protections such as surgical masks and FFP2, and thus encourage the resumption of their activities in the best possible conditions.
Facing the COVID-19 health crisis, its impact on the economy and in a desire to guarantee the safety of all, the aluminium industry has shown remarkable solidarity. Everyone has joined forces to organise the import of more than 1.2 million surgical masks and FFP2.
This operation was carried out with the help of the Eramet group, which made available its sourcing centre Located in China to allow a better supply of masks - FFP2 and surgical - for the entire sector. This allowed us to connect with two Asian suppliers capable of producing and delivering these goods in a few weeks. The first masks have already been dispatched and distributed on French territory.
As a reminder, these orders are independent of those made by the government and health services which remain priority in the delivery and reception of these protective equipment.
More than 160 companies benefit from this chain of solidarity. Many companies across the country have agreed to take on orders from companies in their region and to provide particularly complex Logistics in this context of global health crisis. We thank and proudly carry this commitment of solidarity, for the benefit of their partners and competitors: ALUDIUM, ALVANCE ALUMINUM DUNKERQUE, CONSTELLIUM [ISSOIRE, NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES, NEUF BRISACH AND MONTREUIL-JUIGNE]. HYDRO and TRIMET FRANCE.
These exceptional measures must make it possible to ensure the continuity of our activities, an essential Link to revive and maintain the economy of the country.
