Alcoa has set annual production records at five of its smelters and at one of its alumina refineries.

According to its 2025 fourth quarter report, annual aluminium production reached 2,319 thousand metric tons, a 5% increase compared to 2024.

This growth was characterised by the restart of capacity across smelters, including Alumar, San Ciprián and Lista.

In the fourth quarter alone, production rose by 4% to 604,000 metric tons.

“Reflecting on 2025, we maintained our pace of delivering on key operational, strategic, and capital allocation objectives, while setting numerous production records,” stated Alcoa President and CEO, William F. Oplinger.

“We continue to build on our positive momentum through disciplined operational and financial execution, along with strategic initiatives to maximise value creation.”

However, annual alumina production was 9.64 million metric tons, a 4% decline from 2024.

This decrease was primarily due to the curtailment of the Kwinana refinery in Australia, which was completed in mid-2024.

Despite this, the company reportedly still managed to set an annual production record at one of its other alumina refineries.
