Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has become the first aluminium smelter in the last five years to achieve the British Safety Council (BSC) 5-Star certification.
Alba’s CEO, Ali Al Baqali, made the announcement during a keynote presentation at the 26th Arab International Aluminium Conference (Arabal).
Al Baqali stated: “This 5-Star certification is more than a badge, it’s a reflection of our people, our culture and our purpose.
“At Alba, safety is not just a protocol; it’s a mindset that drives everything we do. This recognition belongs to every Albawee.”
During his presentation, Al Baqali highlighted the key drivers behind the achievement, as well as celebrating Alba’s ninth consecutive summer with no heat-related injuries or illnesses.
The Arabal event commenced on 4 November, with the event attracting a record 545 delegates.
