AGI Greenpac, an Indian-based glass packing manufacturer, is expanding its operations into the aluminium can manufacturing industry.
With an investment of more than ₹1,000 ($112.5M) the company is setting up a state-of-the-art aluminium can plant in Uttar Pradesh. This marks a milestone in the evolution of India’s packaging sector.
Planned in two phases, the facility will begin with a production capacity of 950 million cans annually, scaling up to nearly 1.3 billion cans by 2030.
Commercial operations are expected to commence by October 2027.
With this diversification, AGI Greenpac becomes one of the few companies in India offering both glass and aluminium packaging at scale, serving a wider base across carbonated beverages, energy drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
By expanding into aluminium, this strengthens AGI Greenpac’s portfolio and shapes a future-ready packaging ecosystem for India, aligned with global sustainability trends and regulations.
