The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and the ET Foundation have announced the rescheduled dates and location for the Twelfth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar, previously postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The ET Seminar, now named ET 2021, will be held May 11 – 13, 2021, at the Hilton Orlando on Destination Parkway, minutes from I-Drive in the heart of Orlando’s dining and entertainment district. A new and updated website at www.ET-21.org will be the source for new and updated information as it becomes available.
“We are fortunate to have found dates and a location that meets our specific needs. It took some time since so many organizations had to reschedule events simultaneously due to the unusual circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus pandemic,” said AEC President Jeff Henderson.
The ET Seminar Committee and ET staff are in the process of communicating with authors and presenters to assess the status of the technical program. “The program remains essentially intact with only minor changes to date based on speaker availability and we hope to make as few changes to the original ET ’20 program as necessary,” Henderson explained.
Registrants who previously paid to attend ET ’20 will be automatically transferred to the new registration system and will receive a new registration confirmation for ET 2021 via email in the coming weeks. Current ET exhibitors will be reconfirmed and transferred to the updated floor plan for the ET Expo, which will be located in the Orlando Ballroom at the Hilton Orlando.
The ET Seminar is the most important global aluminum extrusion industry event to attend for the attention to detail paid to developing quality programming and the unsurpassed atmosphere of educational and technical exchange. “The postponement and subsequent rescheduling of ET does not change the fact that ET is an important industry conference that anyone in the worldwide aluminum extrusion industry should attend,” said ET Seminar Committee Chairman Craig Werner, VP Extrusion Technology at Kaiser Aluminum. “We are looking forward to resuming our planning and picking up where we left off with the updated ET 2021 in Orlando.”
The Add-on Workshops are another way for industry professionals to expand their understanding of the extrusion and downstream processes during ET Week. All workshops will be held either before or after ET on Monday, May 10 or Friday, May 14, 2021. The workshops previously scheduled for ET’20 will be offered for ET ’21. Those who registered and paid for a workshop during ET’20 will automatically be transferred and confirmed in the new registration system for the workshop during ET’21.
Special ET 50th Anniversary events are not expected to change and will be rescheduled after restrictions imposed for the pandemic are lifted and businesses open again in the coming weeks. For any events that cannot be rescheduled, paid registrants will be offered a choice to register for a replacement event or receive a refund.
Registration for ET '21 will be opening in the coming weeks. For more information and to sign up for the mailing list to receive ET ’21 updates, visit www.ET-21.org.
