The 2nd China Green Aluminum Summit 2024 will continue to focus on the sustainable development of the aluminum industry in the "dual carbon" era, and share the best practices of enterprises to discuss the development trend of China's green aluminum industry.

China is the world's largest producer of primary aluminum, with total production accounting for about 60% of the global market, and the total amount of carbon emissions is also quite high. According to the statistics of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the carbon dioxide emissions of China's non-ferrous metals industry in 2022 will be about 660 million tons, of which the carbon dioxide emissions of the aluminum industry will be 550 million tons, accounting for 83.3% of the total emissions of the non-ferrous metals industry, accounting for about 5% of the country's total emissions (China's carbon dioxide emissions in 2022 will be about 11 billion tons). Therefore, enterprises related to the aluminum industry must actively manage their carbon footprint and take environmental protection measures to support the realization of China's dual carbon strategic goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".
