The Gulf primary aluminium producer claims that the award 'establishes EMAL as a leader in health and safety on the global industrial stage'.

"This prestigious international award is welcome recognition of the importance we place on a safe and healthy work environment," said EMAL's president and CEO Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei. "Safety has been at the heart of our project since the beginning and we continually set new industry health and safety benchmarks," he added.

Emal is no stranger to health and safety accolades. The company won the Gulf Safety Council Award in 2012 and 'further heightened its commitment to workplace safety for employees with an expanded EHS Representatives Programme within which it developed leaders on the shop floor through the NEBOSH award (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).
