The pair signed a contract with Anrak to provide clarification and red mud-washing technologies as well as services for its alumina refinery in Andhra Pradesh, India. The contract value is E14M.
Outotec is responsible for the delivery of the technology, which includes basic process engineering and the provision of equipment for residue separation, washing, flocculation, oxalate removal and causticisation. HDO takes on the larger, local portion of the project and will oversee the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning work.
The refinery is designed to produce 1.5Mt/y of alumina and is expected to take 18 months to build.
