The project scope included a 200m2 reinforced concrete building with steel-trussed roof, the supply and installation of a hydraulically operated anode stripper, and a dust collection system and bag filters.

In this facility scrap baked anodes are collected from all stages of production using forklift trucks. These may be from the baking kilns, rejected castings, and damages prior to installing rodded anodes in pots. A hydraulic stripper is used to remove anode blocks from rods.

A payloader moves anodes and pieces to a tumbler (Qatalum supply) which breaks the scrap anodes into smaller pieces; the product is then fed to the greenmill for processing.

VHE successfully completed the project work in March 2015.
