Revenues in the quarter increased 19% to INR58bn ($1.3bn).

Income from its aluminium business grew 16% to INR19bn ($428.7M) despite lower sales due to the Hirakud smelter outage.

The project to set up flat rolled products by transferring key equipment from the Novelis Plant at Rogerstone in UK to Hirakud is expected to be completed by Q2 FY’12. It will produce cans for Indian domestic and international markets.

Dismantling of machines at Rogerstone is complete and has been received at Visakhapatnam Port. About 700 people are working at the site on civil and structural jobs, the company said.
