The company has sold 800 tons of X-ECO recycled aluminium alloys to an un-named Saudi Arabian customer.

X-ECO recycled alloys are claimed to offer equivalent quality standards to similar products made from primary aluminium, but they require considerably less energy to produce and can reduce carbon emissions by between 60 and 80%.

“Gulf Extrusions has been committed to contributing to the large scale reduction in the consumption of raw materials and waste generated,” said the company’s general manager, Modar Al Mekdad.

“By using systematically re-melted aluminium and processing it into alloys, we are able to make a major contribution towards the reduction of CO2 emissions,” he added.
