Figures were 445 370t compared to 427 065t the year before, an increase of 18 305t.
Sales for Q2 were 228 357 compared to 226 539 in Q2 2010.
Production figures for the year-to-date were up by 3.5% to 436 256t from 421 659t for the same period of 2010.
It said production was unaffected by the recent unrest.
“Our sales and production figures prove that progress can be accomplished despite the prevalence of severe challenges,” Alba Chief Executive Laurent Schmitt said in a statement.
“We are confident that with the support of our loyal and dedicated employees, Alba is well-placed and remains optimistic with a positive outlook for the remainder of 2011.”
It cited a more focused marketing strategy and enhanced productivity for the increase.
